I grew up in Northwest Baltimore, daughter of Lee and Stephanie Miller, oldest of three children. A product of the Baltimore City Public Schools, I attended Western High School, Class of ’68! The University of Wisconsin awarded me a B.A. in 1973 in U.S. History and Theater, and then—20 years later—I got the M.S. in Professional Writing at Towson University.
In 1979 I married Andrew Ziolkowski; we had two sons, Peter and Nicholas Ziolkowski. While we divorced in 1990, we remain friends.
My older son, Peter, lives in Loch Raven Village with his wife Kristina and my baby granddaughter, Madelyn. My younger son, Nicholas Ziolkowski, was a Marine sniper killed in Fallujah, Iraq, on November 14, 2004. His death provided the initial spark for my campaign to serve in the House of Delegates.
Nick put his life on the line to preserve what he loved about this country for his children and his grandchildren. I love living here. As did Nick, I feel blessed to live in such a wonderful community—lots of green trees, parks, recreational areas and good schools. I want to do what I can to preserve Nick’s legacy.
I have much to offer:
