Articles > Press Release Tracy Miller, trained mediator, launches bid for House of Delegates TOWSON , Md.—Tracy E. Miller, of Towson, is a Democratic candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates from District 42.
Many area residents already know Miller as the mother of Marine Cpl. Nicholas Ziolkowski, who was killed last November in Fallujah, Iraq.
Her bid for a seat in the House of Delegates is directly related to that tragic loss and her new role as a Gold Star mom—the mother of a fallen soldier. “I want to live my life the way I think Nick would have wanted me to,” she says. “He believed he was making a difference, and I believe I can make a difference for the 42 nd District residents.” Miller attended Baltimore City public schools, graduating from Western High School in 1968. She earned a bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree from Towson University.
A longtime member of Towson University’s professional staff, she takes pride in helping students to mature into productive members of society.
As the single mother of two sons, Miller served as president of parents’ associations at Cross County Elementary School, Lida Lee Tall Learning Resources Center, Ruxton Country School and The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland.
She is also active in the League of Women Voters as well as other organizations.
